The Foundation for Excellence & Cognizant Technology Solutions India Private Limited (FFE-Cognizant) Outreach Scholarship Program aims to transform the lives of 100 academically gifted and financially needy students from all over India by enabling access and support of Engineering, Medical, and Law courses. Financial and other assistance provided through the FFE-Cognizant Outreach Scholarship Program shall propel such students to a successful professional career in a single generation, lifting their families out of the poverty cycle.
While the Program’s main focus is providing financial support for qualified students, FFE’s assistance extends beyond finances and includes training, mentorship and advice from a vast network of donors and alumni. This assistance is available irrespective of the applicant’s caste, community, gender or religion. The only eligibility criteria for the Program are academic performance and family income.
The overall objective of the program is to enable continuity in education leading to 100% placement or employability.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants to the FFE-Cognizant Outreach Scholarship Program must be Indian Citizen qualifying the below eligibilities

- Students pursuing
- BE/BTech & Integrated MTech courses
- MBBS and Law courses
- Only first-year applicants beginning their courses are eligible.
- Applicants Are Expected To Have Passed Their Higher Secondary / Pre-University / Intermediate / CBSE / ISC Or Equivalent Board Qualifying Examination After 2024
- Admission to professional degree courses/institutions is based on the merit rank awarded at the state or national level entrance exams, or through a counseling process conducted at the state level, as seen in the table below.
Note: Diploma students admitted to BE / BTech courses on a lateral basis are not eligible.
Primary Documents
- Income certificate/Salary slip or Income tax return or bank statement of the parent.
- Class twelfth (XII) grade cards issued by the SSC/ISC/CBSE board.
- The Rank Certificate stating the rank scored by the student in the Entrance examination.
- The counseling letter issued to the student during the seat allotment process.
- Receipts for actual expenses already incurred for the academic year up to the date of submission of the application.
- Applicants should upload his/her E-Aadhar in the application for KYC verification. The same will be deleted once the KYC verification is successful.
- Differently abled students should submit their disability certificate issued by the State or district level certifying authority.
Secondary Documents
- Applicants for scholarships must submit a “Bonafide Certificate” issued from the college authorities in the current academic year, establishing their status as a student for the specified course and year.
- Applicants must provide a “Statement of Estimated Expenses or Fee Structure document” for the current academic year. The statement should be issued by the college authorities. Mere statements by students about their own estimated expenses are not acceptable.
- Parent Declaration duly signed by parents which informs the parents about the scholarship received by their wards.
- Student bank passbook copy indicating the Account number, IFSC code and other bank details. If the student is minor, then Joint account with any one parent will only be accepted.
Applicant’s gross family income, the education and occupation of parents as well as family members including an elder brother(s) and sister(s), the family’s living conditions, and the total expenses being incurred by the family on the applicant’s education will be taken into consideration for determining the financial eligibility of an applicant. Annual Family Income should be less than INR 4 LPA.
Note: Gross income refers to the income before deductions for taxes or other purposes.
In addition to gross family income, the education and occupation of the parent(s)/guardians, the family’s living conditions, and the total expenses being incurred by the family on the applicant’s education will be taken into consideration for determining the financial eligibility of an applicant.
Applicants who are the first graduates of the family will be preferred over applicants who are the second or third child of the family taking up graduation.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive financial assistance in the form of scholarships until graduation. Awards are renewable each year until a bachelor’s degree is earned.
Renewal is contingent upon the applicant continuing full-time enrollment in an eligible course of study at an accredited college or university, maintaining a good standing with their university and continuation of the program by Cognizant.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic performance and financial needs. Bright and deserving students with financially constrained backgrounds who performed exceptionally well at state and national level entrance exams are eligible for scholarship.
While the FFE-Cognizant Outreach Scholarship Program’s main focus is providing financial support for qualified students, FFE’s assistance extends beyond finances and includes training, mentorship and assistance for internship & placements. This assistance is available irrespective of the applicant’s caste, community or religion. FFE offers all its Engineering scholars a curated series of soft skills and technical skills training programs, from Year 2-4 of Engineering, designed towards job and career readiness. FFE also offers an In House Mentoring Program, for Year 3 Engineering students, geared towards empowering scholars with skills and aptitude for their professional journey.
Notification
Applicants will be notified latest by 31st March 2027. All applications will be presented for screening and selection will be made on a first come first serve basis. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
Payment Of Scholarship
Foundation for Excellence processes scholarship payments on behalf of Cognizant. Payments will be made in one installment before 31st March 2026.
Revisions
Cognizant & Foundation For Excellence reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time including termination of the program.
