Accelerating Careers – FFE Wabtec Scholarship Program supports first-generation learners hailing from less economically privileged backgrounds. Through this program, Wabtec and FFE are working towards transforming the lives of academically gifted and financially needy students, especially girls. The program intends to enable access and support for these students to Engineering programs. By enrolling in this scholarship, scholars are NOT just limited to financial support but also get an opportunity to participate in the in-house skill development training and industry expert mentoring sessions. The beyond scholarships programs are provided with the aim of the complete transformation of the scholar by the time s/he is placed through campus placements.
Over the years, the FFE-Wabtec Scholarship program has supported the engineering education of 890 scholars. 89 of whom graduated and the remaining 801 will be graduating in forthcoming academic years. FFE- Wabtec intends to foster the future of aspiring engineers by accelerating their careers.

Academic Eligibility:
- Only Students pursuing BE/BTech Courses are Eligible For Scholarships
- Only First-Year Applicants Beginning Their Studies In B.E., B.Tech
- Applicants Are Expected To Have Passed Their Higher Secondary / Pre-University / Intermediate / CBSE / ISC Or Equivalent Board Qualifying Examination After 2024
- Admission To Professional Degree Courses/Institutions Is Based On The Merit Rank Awarded At The State Or National Level Entrance Exams, Or Through A Counselling Process Conducted At The State Level.
Note: Diploma Students Admitted To B.E., B.Tech Courses On A Lateral Basis Students Are Not Eligible.
Financial Eligibility:
Annual Income should be less than Rs 4 lakhs
Note: Gross income refers to the income before deductions for taxes or other purposes.
In addition to gross family income, the education and occupation of parents as well as family members including an elder brother(s) and sister(s), the family’s living conditions, and the total expenses being incurred by the family on the applicant’s education will be taken into consideration for determining the financial eligibility of an applicant.
Applicants who are the first graduates of the family will be preferred over applicants who are the second or third child of the family taking up graduation.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a scholarship award of INR 50,000/year until graduation.
Awards are renewable each year until a bachelor’s degree is earned. Renewal is contingent upon the applicant continuing full-time enrolment in an eligible course of study at an accredited four-year college or university, maintaining a good standing with their university and continuation of the program by Wabtec.
Along with the financial award, Wabtec will also provide mentorship, skill building opportunities, networking opportunities.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
This FFE-WABTEC scholarship is available to all students, preferably girls irrespective of the applicant’s caste, community, or religion. The only eligibility criteria for the program are academic performance and family income. Selection of recipients is made by Foundation For Excellence.
In no instance does any officer or employee of WABTEC CORPORATION play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Students apply to FFE-WABTEC Scholarship through an online application form.
Once student eligibility is determined, students are connected to one of FFE’s distributed network of volunteer “Facilitators” in 27 states. Facilitators meet the prospective student or their family members, virtually, to determine the genuineness of need and financial hardship.
After verification of family background and academic credentials, students submit the application form online along with all supporting document and requirement for FFE-WABTEC Scholarship program.
FFE’ scholarship program is based on a reimbursement model as students have already incurred expenses when they first apply for a scholarship (1st semester of College).
FFE does not discriminate based on caste, creed or religion.
Applicants will be notified latest by December 31st, 2027. Scholarship will be awarded to the eligible scholars post verification and selection. The selection will happen on a merit cum application basis. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
Foundation for Excellence processes scholarship payments on behalf of Wabtec. Payments are made in one instalment before 31st March of each year.

FFE-WABTEC India Scholars will receive the scholarship amount of INR 50,000 per student per year. Scholarships will be renewed annually provided students meet academic and financial criteria set forth by FFE.
FFE-Wabtec Scholarship will be awarded initially to the 200 eligible scholars post verification and selection on a first come first serve basis. Award receipts may increase. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
