FFE-Motwani Jadeja Foundation Scholarship Program
Asha Jadeja Motwani, the founder of Motwani-Jadeja Foundation (MJF), came forward to financially support FFE to provide scholarships to 70+ underprivileged youth. Asha, a known face in the social sector, is a Silicon Valley-based entrepreneur, venture capitalist, philanthropist and a change agent – a champion for “exponential change” in the world. She is an influencer with a humanitarian vision to uplift the downtrodden masses and tackle global inequalities. Started in 2005, MJF is a not-for-profit organization that strives to develop a network of entrepreneurs in South Asia trained to think and drive exponential change. The foundation’s mission includes disruptive entrepreneurship, poverty alleviation, gender equality, and sustainable development.
Foundation For Excellence’s goals is aligned with SDG Goal 4, which aims to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.” FFE scholars are usually “First Generation Learners”, from underserved, and economically constrained backgrounds. The Foundation for Excellence & Motwani Jadeja Foundation (FFE-MJF) Scholarship Program started in the Financial Year 2021-2022, aims to transform the lives of academically gifted and financially needy students from all over India by enabling access and support for Engineering and Medical courses. Financial and other assistance provided through the FFE-MJF Scholarship program shall propel such students to a successful professional career in a single generation, lifting their families out of the poverty cycle.
FFE finds bright and deserving students with financially constrained backgrounds who performed exceptionally well at state and national level entrance exams. Once a facilitator verifies the student’s financial need, the scholarship is awarded and their journey begins.
While the Program’s main focus is providing financial support for qualified students, FFE’s assistance extends beyond finances and includes training, mentorship and advice from a vast network of donors and alumni. This assistance is available irrespective of the applicant’s caste, community, gender or religion. The only eligibility criteria for the Program are academic performance and family income.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants to the FFE-MJF Scholarship Program must be Indian citizens qualifying for the below eligibilities

- Students pursuing
- BE/BTech courses
- MBBS
- Only first-year applicants beginning their courses are eligible
- Applicants are expected to have passed their higher secondary / pre-university / intermediate / CBSE/ ISC or equivalent board qualifying examination
- Admission to professional degree courses/institutions is based on the merit rank awarded at the state or national level entrance exams, or through a counselling process conducted at the state level, as seen in the table below.
Note: diploma students admitted to BE / BTech courses on a lateral basis students are not eligible
- Applicant’s pledge for support to FFE
- Bonafide Student Certificate showing status of enrolment in college, course/branch, year of study
- Copy of Aadhar Card
- Copy of first sheet of Bank Passbook or Cancelled Cheque
- Counselling, Admission or Seat Allotment Letter
- Entrance Test Marks & rank Certificate
- Income Certificate, Salary Certificate, Pension Certificate or Income Tax Return and other documents, as applicable
- Mark Sheet for Higher Secondary (12th/PUC/Intermediate) Examination
- Mark Sheet for Secondary School Certificate (10th) Board Examination
- Parent or Guardian’s Declaration

Applicant’s gross family income, the education and occupation of parents as well as family members including an elder brother(s) and sister(s), the family’s living conditions, and the total expenses being incurred by the family on the applicant’s education will be taken into consideration for determining the financial eligibility of an applicant.
Note: Gross income refers to the income before deductions for taxes or other purposes.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive financial assistance in the form of scholarships until graduation. Awards are renewable each year until a bachelor’s degree is earned.
Renewal is contingent upon the applicant continuing full-time enrollment in an eligible course of study at an accredited college or university, maintaining a good standing with their university and continuation of the program by MJF.
Awards are for undergraduate study only (with the exception of Integrated MTech and MBBS courses).
Selection Of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic performance and financial needs. Bright and deserving students with financially constrained backgrounds who performed exceptionally well at state and national level entrance exams are eligible for scholarship.
While the FFE-MJF Program’s main focus Is providing financial support for qualified students, FFE’s assistance extends beyond finances and includes training, mentorship and assistance for internship & placements. This assistance is available irrespective of the applicant’s caste, community or religion.
Notification
Applicants will be notified latest by 31 March 2023. All applications will be presented for screening and selection will be made on a first come first serve basis. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
Payment Of Scholarship
Foundation for Excellence processes scholarship payments on behalf of MJF. Payments are made in one instalment before 31st March of each year.
Revisions
MJF & Foundation For Excellence reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time including termination of the program.
