Hailing from a small place of North Bengal, I had little exposure on engineering education and its prospects; now that I am working at India's largest automobile company; it is really heartening to look back at my journey. I come from a family that has no means to fund English medium schooling or engineering education. However, my mother who works as a laboratory assistant in school always encouraged me to focus on my studies and never to worry about fees. And so I did. Scoring 94% in 10th board (CBSE), I suddenly came into everyone’s notice as it was a record result in the history of our school. The tuition fees of 11th and 12th standard were too high for my family to bear and then FFE came as a rescue.
I did well in 12th board scoring 93.6% in board (CBSE) and an all India rank of 9724 in AIEEE; I got admission in NIT Durgapur in Mechanical Engineering and passed BTech securing 1st division with distinction. I got FFE scholarship in college as well without which it would have been very difficult to continue my studies.
I am very thankful to my facilitator late Mr. P Pandit, who always had faith in me and recognized that I needed and deserved financial assistance. Moreover, he was the guiding star to me, and was always there to guide me to the right path and inspire me to do even better.
I am presently working at one of the leading automobile sector as an Assistant Manager and was selected through campus selection at NIT Durgapur.
