Mine is a family of 5, we live in a small village Tas of Wardha district in Maharashtra. My father is a farmer by occupation and mother is a housewife. My father has studied till 8th standard and mother till 7th standard. No one in my family has studied beyond 12th standard before me.
My facilitator is Mr. Amrut Lonare, who is a Physics Professor for class 11th and 12th standard in Mohotacollege, Hinganghat (Maharashtra). I have attended classes for Physics under him. He was one of the best Physics professors in Nagpur region. After my 12th standard, I got admission into COEP through CET. He was very happy to know about this. He called me and gave all the information about the FFE and the work FFE was doing. That was a very kind gesture on his part as I was not aware about such foundation.
As no one in my family has studied past 12th standard before me, it was very difficult for me to get into an entirely different lifestyle outside my hometown. When I visited COEP for the admission, it was the first time for me and my uncle who accompanied me, in big city like Pune. We had faced many hurdles on the way which was a very good learning experience for me. That journey actually made me clear to the fact that the path ahead is not so easy. I had to study hard with same enthusiasm and passion for four more years. Later on I realized that the four years in COEP was the best period in my life as it taught me many things about life.
As our farm was nonirrigated, it was very difficult for my father to meet the educational expenses of all the 3 of his children. The scholarship from FFE assisted me to a great extent. We tried to manage the education expenses on our own with the help of FFE scholarship for 1st year. However, it was very difficult to manage and therefore I took education loan from 2nd year to cater for my educational needs and with the help of the FFE scholarship, I managed my educational expenses.
Later, in Sept 2011, I got placed in Symantec Corporation through campus placement and joined Symantec on 2nd July 2012 as Associate Software Engineer. After working for 1 year 11 months as Associate Software Engineer, I got promoted to Software Engineer in June 2014.
I am very happy to be part of FFE family and want to help the needy students like me over a period of time. Currently I am also associated with Vidyarthi SahayyakSamithi, Warora along with FEE and I donate some amount every year to VSS as well.
