Prasad Deepak Tandale
Since childhood I used to hear from my parents and grandparents about my uncle and aunts who succeeded in different walks of their lives and that too was because of sheer determination and consistency in the efforts. I think that really pumped me up to go forward in life against all odds.
My paternal Grandfather Mr. Lakshman Bhanudas Tandale has been a source of inspiration and a strong supporter for my engineering education. Although he was working in State Transport Dept as a Head controller, his helping nature made him a friend of society.
My paternal Grandmother Mrs. Malati whose whole career was devoted to Education system was another mentor for my entire family.
My Father Mr. Deepak has always been an ideal for me. He always stood behind us and encouraged me and my younger brother to strive for good education. He worked as a machine operator in a manufacturing company at Ahmednagar.
My Mother Mrs.Jyoti, a good teacher in her career and in real life as well worked as a teacher for preprimary school for almost 25 years. As a son of a renowned teacher in the town, our shoulders were always burdened with more expectations and this made me more focused.
My younger brother, Tushar is unlike me. He has his own rules of living life. Being my only sibling we share lots of joyous and sad moments in life so far. Now he is also a successful Electronics Engineer and working as a Team Leader in one IT industry in Pune.
My Wife, Aditi and I got married on 9th Dec 2009. It was a typical arranged marriage. But somehow our wavelengths are so matching that few of our friends always suspect us that yours must be a love marriage. Aditi’s sincerity and hardships helped her to crack NET exam and stood 7th in India. Being masters into Org. Chemistry field, she has worked in the pharma industry and her love towards education system has changed her career path. So she is working as an Asst Professor in one of the Engineering College in Pune University.
My Daughter, Ananya a bundle of joy was gifted to us on 10th Oct 13. Since then our life has taken different route where there are stations like happiness, sleepless nights, over cautious parenting etc.
I was introduced to FFE scholarship by the magistrate trustee of our hostel (Student Welfare Association) Late Mr. Rajabhau Patwardhan. I still remember the way he used to scrutinize each and every document we have to submit to FFE. He always made sure that the scholarship was going into right & needy hands.
When I passed my 12th class board exam with very good marks, I still remember my whole family was in a joyous moment. In fact my Grandpa published my photo in local newspaper. However, at the same time there was some tension about my family’s economic status concerning the fulfillment of my higher education expenses. I had decided to go to Pune for further studies. At that time, my Grandfather played a major role in motivating me to go ahead and look for good colleges. He assured me that he would manage the expenses. I later came to know that he had some small piece of land in his name which he mortgaged to take a loan for paying my 1st year fees.
When I arrived in Pune on 19th Aug 2000 for my Engineering admission procedure, I got to know about Students welfare Association from my college.
In our hostel every new student from engineering/medical faculty used to get introduced to the FFE scholarship, but it was not so easy to achieve it. Our facilitator the Late Mr. Rajabhau Patwardhan was very much keen on scrutinizing the candidates for rewarding the scholarship. I remember I had attached some 50 odd certificates from curriculum & non curriculum activities of mine while submitting the proposal to FFE during my 1st year engineering. Now I recognize how much importance all those documents had in my life.
One fine day our facilitator called me and informed that I had been rewarded with FFE scholarship. At one end my happiness was at its high and other end it was equal pressure to maintain consistency in the grades. I sincerely felt the sense of gratitude towards those donors of FFE for fulfilling our needs and also nurturing future FFE donors.
Attaining the FFE scholarship all through my engineering course gave me a complete peace of mind, as it allowed me to concentrate in my studies and excel. I give credit to both Students welfare association for facilitating FFE in rewarding this scholarship to me and generating another donor for this noble cause.
When I passed out my 4yrs engineering degree course with First class, the job market situation was worse as it was hard to get new jobs. But few lucky fellows from our batch got recruited in different industries and I was fortunately one of them. My professional career started with a marketing job in the automotive segment. However, I felt life was calling me somewhere else; I decided to switch my profile at an early stage and moved to the Engineering Design related software field. Consequently, since October 2004 I have been associated with CAD/CAM/CAE/PLM workspace. It is during this period that I got an opportunity to work with Industry giants like IBM as well. Currently I am working as a Technical Sales Specialist at Dassault Systems India Pvt Ltd and based out of Pune.
My job profile always demands of me to get connected with people. In fact, as one of my responsibilities I have trained almost 5000+ Industry professionals on our software courses. This has really helped me to expand my network. In addition, I have been participating in the FFE Alumni meetings for the last couple of years and I have been trying to contribute my share and it gives me immense happiness.
