Mukunda M Janardhana
I am proud to call myself alumn i of FFE, which has been the backbone for my career. If it was not for FFE I would have been earning and leading a life but probably not with the amount of employment satisfaction and social status I have achieved now. On behalf of my parents and myself, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to FFE for helping me financially to pursue a BE course with dignity and make my dream come true.
After completing 12th standard in 2004, I was in a dilemma about pursuing a BE course because of the amount of financial burden it would bring upon my parents. My parents’ annual income was less than twenty thousand rupees, but the annual expenditure for BE course was nearly twenty five thousand and my parents had to take care of my elder sister’s education too. However, my parents encouraged me to pursue BE with the hope of getting money through an educational loan. I had secured a rank within the top five hundred in Karnataka Common Entrance test, which fetched me an admission in Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Mysore in Electronics & Communication. Since the banks were unable to provide the loan for paying the fees, for the first time we had to arrange to secure the money through the help of family and friends.
Fortunately, one of my uncles was a colleague of Mr. Manjunathiah, my facilitator. I was introduced to Mr. Manjunathiah by my uncle who explained about my financial circumstance. My facilitator was very helpful and he clearly explained about the FFE scholarship scheme. I applied for FFE scholarship after my first semester classes began and I got approval to receive scholarship. I was awarded a scholarship for all four years of my BE course. My facilitator was morally supported me in my academic progress.
After completing BE course in 2008, in the same year, I joined Bharat Electronics Limited, a premier defense electronics company for India, as a Deputy Engineer. I worked there till 2013 and left the company to pursue a Master’s degree in the USA. I got admission in University of Arizona in Electrical & Computer engineering department. Presently I am a Graduate Research Assistant in this university. As a result of being a research assistant, I have the advantage of getting tuition fee waiver.
With the higher education qualification, I am hoping that I will be better able to return to FFE in multiple times what I received from FFE, and this will help a lot of students to realize their dreams of Professional education.
