I come from a small town in north Karnataka called Dharwad. My father was a private accountant, who used to work with a Chartered Accountant. He is now retired. My mother is a home maker. I have one elder sister who is now married and settled in Rajkot, Gujarat. I recently got married to Pallavi who is a pediatric physiotherapist.
My facilitator is Prof. Anant G. Tithe. I was initially introduced to Vidya Poshak by my school teacher Mr. Grampurohit along with his friend Mr. S.G. Kulkarni who works in Bank of India. They introduced me to Prof. R N Tikot who was the CEO of VidyaPoshak. It is these people who introduced me to the Foundation for Excellence which availed me with a scholarship for my Engineering. In FFE, Prof Anant G. Tithe used to give me timely guidance on various aspects related to studies and soft skills.
When I look back at those days, I feel really happy to have overcome those difficulties. My parents used to manage the household with just about Rs 3000.I still remember a day when my mother wanted to buy a coconut for cooking and there was not even 5 rupees at home and yet it was the end of the month. My mother used to do tailoring so that she could manage finances better. Sometimes I also helped her in tailoring. My father on the other hand used to work in multiple places. Even with all of this, we used to have only so much money that we could hardly manage for a month.
FFE was a boon to me. I cannot imagine completing engineering without the help of FFE which gave me complete scholarship for all my four years of Engineering. All of my college fees were covered and my sole responsibility was to study without having to worry about finances. Truly it was a boon.
With the help of FFE, I successfully completed my engineering course. I got into Infosys through campus placement when I was in the 6th semester of my engineering. When I called my facilitator to inform him of this good news, he said, "I will also give good news to you. Tomorrow, Mrs. Sudha Murthy is visiting Hubli for an opening ceremony of a library. You can actually go and try to talk to her". It was a dream comes true for me. I worked in Infosys for about a year and then joined Oracle in order to get better development opportunities. After working in Oracle for 3 years, I joined Intuit which is my current company. My designation here is Senior Software Engineer.
